Point Cloud to Mesh : Options and Results

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

Create a mesh object from a point cloud.

Required Step 1

Pick a point cloud from which to create a mesh object. The following parameters are displayed:

Automatic Edge Length

This is a toggle option Automatic Edge Length / User-Define Edge Length to set how the edge length of the triangles is defined:

Automatic Edge Length	System defined triangle edge length to find the 'best' value. This option is usually used in point clouds with equally spaced points.
User-Define Edge Length	Manually define the triangle edge length. The parameter Max. Triangle Edge Length is displayed. Default: 10 mm (0.5 inch). Min.: 0.001, Max.: 1000

Press OK or Apply in the Feature Guide. The selected object(s) is converted to a mesh object.

When completed, the Point Cloud To Mesh feature will appear in the Feature Tree as follows:
