Create 3, 4 and 5-axis tool motions for milling strips of adjacent surfaces, while following the parametric curves of these surfaces.

Creating this procedure

See Creating a Procedure for a general explanation.

1. For Technology, choose Local Operations as the main selection, and Part Surface as the subselection. Choose 3X, 4X, or 5X, depending on the type of toolpath.

2. Choose the appropriate cutter.

3. Define the part surfaces and check surfaces. 

4. Define the following Motion Parameters:

   • Approach & Retract

   • Clearance & UCS

   • Entry & End Points

   • Tolerance & Surf. Offset

   • Tool Trajectory

   • Stock (for 3X milling only)

   • Optimizer (for 3X milling only)

   • User Parameters

5. Define the Machine Parameters.

6. When finished, you can choose from the following Work Mode Dialog buttons:

   • Save & Close to suspend

   • Save & Calculate to execute

   • Save Original

   • Cancel
