  • Select Close Entire Mesh Object from the Mesh Guide Toolbar.

  • Select Close Entire Mesh Object from the popup menu.

Close all open areas in selected mesh objects.

The operation can be performed on multiple open mesh objects, including flat skins. Flat skins is a mesh where all the triangles are in the same plane.

Required Step 1

Pick one or more open mesh objects. The following parameters are displayed; the image shows the selected open mesh objects.

Auto / By Reference

This is a toggle option Auto / By Reference which defines how to close the mesh.

Auto

Automatically close the open mesh object(s). If this option is selected, the Remove Flat Skins / Keep Flat Skins toggle option is displayed. See below.

By Reference

Close the open mesh object(s) in the direction defined by a selected plane. Pick the open mesh object(s) and a reference plane.
Example:Example:

The selected open mesh object(s) are closed and, where relevant, extended to the reference plane:

The objects are closed in the direction of the reference plane. If, due to a geometric limitation, the operation is not completely successful, an message is displayed relevant to the number of objects selected.

If one open mesh object was selected, and the operation was not successful, the Conflict Solver dialog is displayed showing the reason for the failure.

If multiple open mesh objects were selected, and not all were successfully closed, the problematic objects are left open and a message is displayed indicating that the operation was partially successful.

The selected open mesh objects are closed in the direction of the reference plane.

Remove Flat Skins / Keep Flat Skins

This is a toggle option to keep or remove flat skins from the selected open mesh objects.
Flat skins is a mesh where all the triangles are in the same plane.
This parameter is displayed if the Auto option is selected.

Remove Flat Skins

Remove the flat skins.
Example:Example:

The resulting operation closes all selected open mesh objects and removes the flat skins.

Keep Flat Skins

Keep the flat skins.
