Cut
: Cutting Objects by a Plane
Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

Click
in the toolbar.

Select Solid > Main Tools > Cut from the menu bar.
Cut objects by geometry.
Cut (trim) one or more open or closed objects (also faces) by using face(s), a plane, object(s), curve, edge, or axis as the cutting entity.
Note: Datum planes are created using the Datum > Plane function.

The part shown below consists of three individual solid objects. A diagonal plane was created.
Required Step 1 
Pick one or more open or closed objects (including individual faces) to be cut.
In this case, all three solid objects are selected. Press exitexit when all objects are selected.
Required Step 2 
Set the Cut parameters as required and pick the cutting entity, in this case a plane.
Only one plane can be selected. |
A blue arrow appears on the plane. The arrow direction indicates the side that will be cut. You can flip the direction by clicking the arrow. |

Click OK or Apply
in the Feature Guide to complete the function.
The objects are now cut. | In Side view, you can see how the plane cut the objects. |

When completed, the Cut feature appears in the Feature Tree.
