Mechanism Assembly : Creating a Regular Assembly

The first step in creating a Mechanism Assembly is to create a regular assembly. The assembly should be created from catalog parts. However, non-catalog parts can also be added to the assembly.

To be used as a Mechanism Assembly, the assembly must also meet the following conditions:

  1. Catalog parts can be from different catalogs.
  2. The assembly can include Datums and Sketches.
  3. The assembly must be on one level only and cannot include sub-assemblies.
  4. In the case of interchangeable parts, the assembly should include all alternatives.
  5. It is recommended that you create the catalog assembly using medium sized catalog values for each part. This will allow the mechanism to include the maximum optional parts.
  6. Parametric relations are allowed for non-catalog parts only.
