Mechanism Assembly
: Creating a Regular Assembly
The first step in creating a Mechanism Assembly is to create a regular assembly. The assembly should be created from catalog parts. However, non-catalog parts can also be added to the assembly.
To be used as a Mechanism Assembly, the assembly must also meet the following conditions:
- Catalog parts can be from different catalogs.
- The assembly can include Datums and Sketches.
- The assembly must be on one level only and cannot include sub-assemblies.
- In the case of interchangeable parts, the assembly should include all alternatives.
- It is recommended that you create the catalog assembly using medium sized catalog values for each part. This will allow the mechanism to include the maximum optional parts.
- Parametric relations are allowed for non-catalog parts only.
