Cut & Paste Geometry Between NC Procedures

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

Perform a range of Geometry operations on NC Procedures. A Procedure is a set of cutter movements that conform to a specific machining technology. One or several Procedures can comprise a toolpath.

Copy the geometric data from one procedure to a single or multiple procedures. The following Cut and Paste Geometry functions are available:

Copy Geometry

Copy the geometric data of a selected procedure. The geometric data copied are the parameters included the procedure's Geometry Parameters Table.

All data related to the geometry is copied, including:

  1. All geometric entities IDs.

  2. Criteria used for selection.

  3. Contours by groups (boundaries, internal sharp edges, etc.) and their attributes (Offset, In / On / Out / As Touch…).

  4. Surfaces by groups (Part Surfaces, Check Surfaces, Overlap Surfaces).

  5. Points.

  6. Parts Safe Milling status.

  7. Pockets and Remachine Segments.

The entities are kept by Groups, for the Paste Geometry Special operation, as detailed below.

Paste Geometry

Paste the copied geometry to one or more selected procedures.

Paste the contents of the buffer into one or more selected procedures. Paste works as if all the copied groups in the buffer are selected (see Paste Geometry Special below).

Paste Geometry Special

Paste selected geometry items to one or more selected procedures.

Paste Geometry Special is used to control what type of geometry will be pasted and in what way. It opens the following dialog:

Use the topmost buttons to select All groups or Selected groups.

The following Selected groups are available:

  1. Contours—Everything that defined in the Contour Manager, including numeric data (such as Z-TOP) and attributes (Such as In / On / Out).

  2. Part SurfacesPart Surfaces as associated with groups (including Overlap surfaces).

  3. Check SurfacesCheck Surfaces as associated with groups.

  4. Points—Drill Points, as well as any other points.

  5. Parts Safe Milling—contains the status of the Parts Safe Milling parameter.
Transformation procedures do not have 'Geometry' for this purpose.

  6. Pockets—From the Pocket Manager.

  7. Remachine Segments—As defined in Remachine Segments.

Notes:

The following buttons are in the dialog

OK: Accept the changes, perform the operation, and close the current dialog/task.

Cancel: Cancel all changes and close the dialog/task without saving the settings.
