Hints and tips for finish surface pocketing procedures

Create the Legacy Pocket Milling Procedure

See Creating a Procedure for a general explanation.

1. For Technology, choose Surface Milling as the main selection, and Legacy Procedures > Pocket Milling as the subselection.

2. Choose the appropriate cutter.

3. Define the part and stock contours, part surfaces, and part2 surfaces / check surfaces.

4. Define the following Motion Parameters:

   • Approach & Retract

   • Clearance & UCS

   • Entry & End Points

   • Boundary Settings

   • Tolerance & Surf. Offset

   • Tool Trajectory

   • Stock

   • Optimizer

   • User Parameters

5. Define the Machine Parameters.

6. When finished, you can choose from the following Work Mode Dialog buttons:

   • Save & Close to suspend

   • Save & Calculate to execute

   • Save Original

   • Cancel
