Volume Milling - Legacy Procedures > Spiral Cut - 3D

Spiral Cut is a suitable milling for a closed cavity parts with a shaped contour. The remaining stock will be uniform, which is a better start condition for the Finish procedure.

1. For Technology, choose Volume Milling as the main selection, and Legacy Procedures > Spiral Cut - 3D as the subselection.

2. Choose the appropriate cutter.

3. Define the Geometry; the contours, part surfaces and part2 surfaces.

4. Define the following Motion Parameters:

   • Approach & Retract

   • Clearance & UCS

   • Entry & End Points

   • Boundary Settings

   • Tolerance & Surf. Offset

   • Tool Trajectory

   • Machine Between Layers

   • Stock

   • Optimizer

   • User Parameters

5. Define the Machine Parameters .

6. When finished, you can choose from the following Work Mode Dialog buttons:

   • Save & Close to suspend

   • Save & Calculate to execute

   • Save Original

   • Cancel
