Delete Component : Options and Results

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

  • Click the button in the toolbar.

  • Press the Delete key on the keyboard.

  • Select Assembly > Component Operations > Delete Component from the menu bar.

  • Right-click on a sub-assembly, component or folder in the Assembly Tree to display the popup menu and select Delete Component.

  • Select Delete Component from the Graphics Area popup menu.

Delete selected components.

Notes:

  • The part in the Part Application is not affected.

  • If a component belongs to an "Add Group" (instances of a component in a folder in the Assembly Tree), only the specific component is deleted.

  • When this function is invokedinvoked (for more, click Access at the top of this Help topic) and component(s) are selected for deletion from the Feature Guide, a confirmation message is displayed before the actual delete operation. When pre-selecting component(s) from the Assembly Tree and invoking the function via the Assembly Tree popup menu, the function interaction immediately jumps to the confirmation dialog.

Required Step 1

  1. Pick the components to be deleted.
  2. Use MMB to <exit><exit>(middle mouse button) when finished. An alert is displayed.
    • If you confirm the deletion, the component is deleted.
    • If the item to be deleted has connect features, the Delete dialog is displayed. This shows the deleted component and lists all the connect features that will also be deleted.
  3. In either dialog, if Yes is selected, the listed features are deleted. If No is selected, the delete operation is canceled and the function is closed.
    • If a cut operation is deleted, a dialog is displayed listing all the cut and thread features that will be deleted. If you confirm the deletion, the listed features are deleted.  
  4. If you confirm the deletion, the component is deleted.
