-
Select Electrode > Tools > EDM Setup from the menu bar.
-

Create an EDM Setup Output file. Post process the EDM Setup data and create the output data file used to run the appropriate EDM machine. A dialog is displayed, enabling you to select the post processor, to set various parameters and to create the output file. The type of output file created depends on whether standard or machine-specific parameters are defined.
Once you have selected electrodes or electrode tools to output (in the Process tab), click the EDM Setup Output button to display the Post Process dialog.
The Post Process dialog contains the following:
Post Processor |
Select the required Post, out of the posts available for the current profile. |
Post Parameters |
Set the appropriate post parameters, if they exist, as defined by the post. |
File Name |
Set the output file name to create an .erp file containing a list of all the parameters. The default file name is <assembly-name>.erp. The .erp file is an ASCII file which can be edited using any ASCII editor. To convert the .erp file to an EDM machine-readable version, send the .erp file to your Cimatron Provider. Note: If a machine specific profile is used, the output is already EDM machine-readable and can be loaded directly to the relevant machine interface. |
Export 3D |
Export the workpiece and electrode models into another, predefined, CAD format. This checkbox is displayed if it is customized to be visible by your Cimatron Provider. If this checkbox is marked:
|
Destination Folder |
Set the post output folder where all post-related files are placed. A browse button is available. |
Open Output File |
Display the output file. If this checkbox is ON, the .erp output file is opened in the default ASCII editor. This file can then be edited if required. |
Create EDM Report |
Create the EDM Report. If this checkbox is ON, the Template Format and Template Name defined in EDM Report dialog are displayed. |
Run External Program |
Run a predefined external program. This checkbox is displayed if it is customized to be visible by your Cimatron Provider. In addition to the Provider customization, the EXE file of the external program to be run should be placed in the following folder: ...\Program Files\Cimatron\Cimatron\2026.0\Program\EDM_Setup |
