Picking Part and Stock Contours
-
Part contour / stock contour selection mode:
Either press thebutton in the Work Mode Dialog (if you are in Wizard Mode), or display the Geometry parameters in the parameter tables.
The Geometry Table is displayed:
To start picking the required geometry, press the numbered button adjacent to the Part Contours or Stock Contours geometry parameter. This button displays the number of part contours or stock contours that have already been selected. You are then prompted to pick the required geometry.
See Selecting / Unselecting Geometry.
See the cursor symbols in Cimatron when picking geometry.
Part contours are used for pocketing procedures, to represent the desired end-result milling limits. They are used in contrast with stock contours.
Stock contours are used for pocketing procedures, to represent the initial milling material. They are used in contrast with part contours.
If stock contours are not defined, all contours are assumed to be part contours.
Some pocketing procedures can machine according to a defined stock. This stock can be defined as a series of contours.
Once contour selection mode is invokedinvoked , there are several ways to pick contours. See Picking Contours for details.
Note: Part contours take precedence over stock contours. In other words, if you define a contour as part and later define the same contour as stock, the contour will be considered a part contour.
