Wireframe Menu: Derived Curves Tools

Group of functions used to create curves derived from existing curves.

The functions included in this group are:

2D Bounding

Create a 2D (projected) Bounding Box contour around selected entities. Pick one or more 2D contours and the system finds the tightest square, circle, or enclosing polygon that completely surrounds the selected contour(s).

Corner

Create a sharp, round, or chamfer corner between curves.

Cylinder Centerlines

Create a path of cooling circuit centerlines along one or more cylinder or cone faces (holes or shafts) in a part.

This feature is available in the Part and Assembly environments and does not require a Cimatron Mold license. It is well suited for users that do not cut cooling holes.

From Face

Create curves that are face curves (edges or section/cross section curves).

Intermediate Curve

Create one or more an intermediate curves between two curves. Any number of intermediate curves can be created. If 2 points are selected, the result is an intermediate point (or a number of points as required).

This function may be used, for example, to divide an angle, place components on a part, define the split direction, or to find a centerline for machining purposes (to guide the path or orientation of the tool during NC programming).

Intersection

Create intersection curves between objects, faces, and planes.

Object Silhouette

Create a 2D inner and/or outer silhouette (perimeter curve) of objects.

Silhouette

Create silhouette curves on selected faces based on a 'lighting' direction.

Skeleton Curve

Find the skeleton (middle curve) of selected 2D contours or planar faces. For planar faces, the system creates a skeleton curve based on the boundary edges of the selected face.
