Creating a Catalog File
Creating a catalog file consists of a number of steps:
-
Constructing the part geometry.
-
Defining the cutting object geometry where needed.
-
Naming all relevant dimensions.
-
Give names to the dimensions.
-
Defining which dimension is a primary and which is a secondary dimension.
-
Dimensions which are not named cannot be changed. They have fixed values in the part.
-
-
Attaching names to entities (faces, edges, etc.). In MoldDesign. these names are later used in MoldDesign rules.
-
Adding thread attributes where needed.
-
Setting the cutting rule (when cutting objects were defined).
-
Saving the part as a Catalog part and setting the Cimatron Explorer attributes that will later be assigned to all the resulting catalog parts.
-
Adding the part to the catalog.
-
Creating the catalog table (can be created in Excel and copied to the catalog table control).
-
Setting the material for each record.
-
Attaching a part picture which will be used in the catalog to describe the general shape of the part.
-
Attaching a sketch picture which will be used in the catalog to explain the part dimensions.
