Editing a Reference Feature in Assembly

Access: The function Edit Reference Feature appears on popup menus; a Feature Tree popup submenu and, if you select a component face, on the Graphics Area popup submenu.

A reference feature is the feature used to create the item. For example, if a spline was used to create a Sweep feature, then the spline is the reference feature. You can open the function used to create this reference feature by using the Edit Reference Feature option in any of the popup menus (the relevant Feature Tree popup submenu or the Graphics Area popup submenu). The appropriate Feature Guide is displayed, which is used to return to any step. Any reference feature can be edited in this way.

Editing a reference feature

  1. Activate the component with the feature you want to edit.

  2. Right-click on the feature name in the Feature Tree. From the Feature Tree popup submenu, select Edit Reference Feature.

  3. You will enter the function by which the curve or sketch was created. When you are finished, upon exiting the function the feature will be updated.

Note: The feature in the Part Application is automatically updated.
