Local Operations
> 3X Geodesic
Access:
-
For Machining Technology, choose Local Operations as the Main Selection and 3X Geodesic as the Subselection.
3X Geodesic is a high quality toolpath that calculates an even 3D step over complex parts. It includes support for guide curves and undercut and considers the holder to prevent collisions. It is typically used for parts that require a high quality surface finish, such as mold and die cores and/or cases where a continuous toolpath (start-to-end without reentries) is required. This procedure is identical to 5X Geodesic.
Note: The MILL_3X Module is required for the 3X Geodesic procedure. It is standard with the Cimatron NC Module and requires no further licensing. Please contact your Cimatron Provider/Reseller for more information.
Creating this procedure
See Creating a Procedure for a general explanation.
-
For Machining Technology, choose Local Operations as the Main Selection and 3X Geodesic as the Subselection.
-
Choose the appropriate cutter.
-
Define the following Motion Parameters:
-
Tool Trajectory (Select the Access button in the Tool Trajectory parameter table.)
-
Define the required geometry. Appropriate geometry sets are displayed in the Geometry branch, depending on the machining strategy selected in the dialog displayed by pressing the Access button in the Tool Trajectory parameter table. Geometry can be selected either from the Tool Trajectory dialog or from the Geometry branch.
-
Define the Machine Parameters.
-
When finished, you can choose from the following Work Mode Dialog buttons:
(These options are also available on the Procedure popup submenu.)
