Cutter Load and Replace operation

The following rules are applied when replacing cutters in the current file/library with cutters from a selected source file:

  • If a cutter to be changed is in use, a warning message is displayed.

  • Any cutters in the selected file that exist in the current file are replaced.

Note: The settings in the Cutters Merging Rules Preferences define whether two cutters are considered the same.

The replace operation updates all the cutter values: After the replace, the cutter in the current file is identical to the cutter from the selected file.

  • Any cutters in the selected file that do not exist in the current file are added to the current file.

If a cutter in the current file uses the same name, the added cutter is renamed.

  • When the load/replace operation is completed, an appropriate confirmation message is displayed.

Other messages may also be displayed:

    1. Any cutters in the current file that do not exist in the selected file are not updated; A message is displayed listing these cutters.

    2. If there were cutters with the same name but they failed the same cutter check (Cutters Merging Rules Preferences), a message is displayed stating that new cutters were added and displays a list of these cutters.

    3. If new cutters were added, a message is displayed listing the new cutters that were added.

Note: These messages also appear in the Output Pane.
