Editing a Feature in Assembly

Access: The function Edit Feature (for editing assembly features) appears on two popup menus; a Feature Tree popup submenu and, if you select a component face, on the Graphics Area popup submenu.

The function Edit / Update (which appears in the Feature Tree popup submenu) is used to edit the Cut Active feature created by the Cut Active function.

You can open the function used to create any feature by using the Edit Feature option in any of the popup menus (such as the Feature Tree popup submenu or the Graphics Area popup submenu). The appropriate Feature Guide is displayed so you can return to any step.

Editing a feature

For any feature, you can open the appropriate Feature Guide and edit any step.

  1. Activate the component with the feature you want to edit.

  2. Right-click on the desired feature in the Feature Tree.

  3. From the Feature Tree popup submenu, select Edit Feature or Edit / Update (in the case of a Parting Export feature).

  4. The appropriate Feature Guide is displayed, automatically open to the last Required StepWhen the appropriate Feature Guide is displayed, you can modify any step by clicking on it. When you are finished, press OK or Apply to close the Feature Guide and update the function. The feature in the Part Application is automatically updated.

Note: An exception to this is if you used Edit / Update in the Feature Tree popup submenu of the Parting Export feature. In this case, the 2nd Required Step of the Export Parting Faces Feature Guide is opened.

Note: If a numerical value ( such as the extrude length) contains a parametric dependency, this value will be dimmed while the Feature Guide is open. See Editing Numerical Parameters.
