Extract Electrode

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

Select Electrode > Add Electrode > Extract Electrode from the menu bar.
Select Extract Electrode from the Electrode Guide.

Extract (create) a new electrode. This involves defining an electrode area which will be the basis for the blank.

This function, together with the Mark Extracted Faces Electrode Preference option, enables you to mark the extracted faces on the insert or plate the electrodes are extracted from, so that you know where electrodes were already created and also to enable you to hide those faces to create capping faces over them.

Note: This function is only available when the assembly is active. Activate the electrode in the electrode tree to display the remaining steps in the Electrode Guide.

General Interaction

Tip: You can open the Feature Guide at any time by right-clicking the mouse in the graphic display area.

Required Step 1 : Pick a reference UCS.

Required Step 2 : Pick a point to preliminary position the electrode.

Optional Step 1 : Center To Selection.

Optional Step 2 : Fit To Selection.
