Update All
Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:
-
Select Update All
from the Quick Access Toolbar.
-
Select Edit > Main Tools > Update All from the menu bar.
Update all models in a drafting file and generate an optional report that lists all the sheets included in the update as well as their update status.
A drafting file may contain multiple sheets with each sheet containing views that relate to multiple separate models (part or assembly). Prior to Cimatron 2024, updating multiple models in a drafting file had to be done manually, one model at a time.
The Update All function automates this process by updating all components (models, views, and sheets) in one operation with the option to generate a report that outlines the sheets that were updated and their update status (see Creating Reports).
The following image shows a list of sheets that have not been updated. This information is accessible from the Window menu item in the menu bar.
Note: The Update All function is only available when working in the Drafting environment.
Using Update All
-
Update a sheet/model in a drafting file.
-
Select Update All from the Edit menu (click the Access button above for instructions to access this function).
-
The following window appears. You can press the Esc key to stop the Update All process if needed.
Note: The following message appears if all sheets in the file are already updated.
-
When the Update All process is complete, the following window appears notifying you of the update status.
For those sheets that are updated successfully, the Not Updated designation is removed from the Windows list.
-
Create a report to view any errors that occurred during this process (see Creating Reports below for more information).
Creating reports
-
You can view details of the update, including any errors, by clicking the Report icon at the bottom of the dialog. This will generate a log file.
The log file uses the naming convention listed below. The log file is saved to the same folder that the drawing file resides and is automatically deleted by the system after the dialog is closed or if the Batch Update operation did not generate errors.
