Assembly Menu: Main Tools
Access: Invoke this group of functions from the following location:

Select Assembly > Main Tools from the menu bar. Select the required function.
This group of functions is used to perform various operations on assemblies.
The following functions are available in this group:

Activate the main assembly. |

Activate the assembly containing the currently active component. Invoke this function after you have finished editing a part. This closes the Part environment, returns you to the Assembly environment and activates the parent assembly of the currently active component. |

Add a component to the assembly / sub-assembly. |
|
|
Add a component that is a duplicate copy of an existing component, to the assembly / sub-assembly. |
|
|
Add a component from an external (third party) Catalog to the assembly / sub-assembly. |
|
|
Add a component from the Catalog to the assembly / sub-assembly. |
|
|
Add a part/component to the assembly/sub-assembly. |
|
|
Add a new sub-assembly to the assembly. |
|
|
Create an assembly cut by selecting the cutting component and the component(s) to be cut. |
|
|
Cut component(s) automatically by component(s) with Cutting Objects according to their cutting rules. |
|
|
Create a Bill of Materials (BoM) for an assembly. A BoM is a list of components in the assembly. |
|
|
Create connections between components by defining constraints. |
|
|
Move or rotate a component (if it has degrees of freedom). |
