Saving as a Catalog Part : Name Dimensions

Access: Open this function from the following location:

  • Select Catalog > Catalog Part Definitions > Save as Catalog Part from the menu bar.

Pick dimensions which will be defined in the catalog table of the file and used for the creation of table driven files.

This is the first stage in a wizard that guides you through the process of saving a part as a Catalog Part.

Reminder: To explain the use of this function, we are saving the pin, shown below, as a catalog part.

General Interaction

The Attach Names to Columns dialog is displayed:

This stage consists of the following steps:

  1. Pick the dimensions that will be added to the catalog.
  2. Name the dimensions.
  3. Set the dimension attributes (Primary or Secondary Dimensions).
  4. Define the dimension order in the catalog table.
  5. Define new dimensions.
  6. Set other catalog parameters.
  7. Select the approval options.

Select the Approval Options

The following approval options are available:

Apply

Save the current status of the dimension definitions. The Primary and Secondary dimensions are saved, in the order they appear in the dialog. New dimensions are not saved until the Save button is pressed at the end of the process.

Return to a previous stage.

Next

Go to the next stage in saving a part as a Catalog part.

Cancel

Exit the process without saving.
