Single Value

List Value

The dimension can be selected from a list of values. This list is defined in the next stage of saving as a catalog part, by pressing the Add List Values button.

File Attribute

The File Attribute column enables you to add customized columns and values to the catalog as file attributes, which can be displayed in a BOM and/or the Attributes Manager.

When creating a catalog part, any column can be marked as a File Attribute. Once a column is marked as such, parts created out of the catalog part will have that column data as part of their attributes. By changing system definitions using the Attributes Manager and relevant files (BOM_Template.csv, sym_text.csv), this data can be presented in the attributes section of the Cimatron Explorer, in the BOM, or as symbolic text.

This can be useful when you want to add information regarding catalog items that should appear in the BOM, for example (such as the specific part vendor from where you are getting this specific catalog record).

For each row in the table in Step 1, a checkbox is displayed under the File Attribute column.

When this checkbox is marked , for each specific row in the Step 1 dialog, values may be entered under that column name in the Step 2 dialog.

When the part is saved as a catalog part, the specific column and defined values are displayed in the Cimatron Explorer.

When a file is created out of that catalog part (for example, using Add From Catalog), an attribute is created with the specified value; with the name of the column as the attribute name. This attribute can then be manually added to the Attributes Manager.

In a BOM, the new column (Code, in this case) is displayed by adding the column name to the BOM by using the Column Chooser dialog.
