Parting Menu: QuickSplit Tools

This group is functions is used to split faces, define opening directions and attach parting surfaces to the opening directions.

The QuickSplit operation entails the following stages (in the Parting process):

New Direction - Define the split direction(s) using the directional arrow, assign the faces from the part (or, in the Assembly environment, from the activated part) to be attached to the direction, and if required, run the Direction Analysis tool.

QuickSplit - Split geometry into sets of core and cavity faces, according to specified directions. QuickSplit creates sets to contain the split faces.

Parting Attributes - Assign parting attributes to parting surfaces (faces)parting surfaces (faces).

Parting surfaces are surfaces which are used to separate the core and cavity (and also the slider, if it exists). Parting surfaces do not form the molded part.

Edit Direction - If required, edit a previously defined split direction. When you edit a direction, the faces that belong to this direction are automatically selected.

Highlight Split Direction

Highlight the split direction of a face.

New Direction

Invoke the QuickSplit function and create a new opening direction.

Parting Attributes

Assign parting attributes to parting surfaces (faces)parting surfaces (faces). This attaches the parting surfaces to opening directions.

Parting surfaces separate the core and cavity mold halves; they are the contact surfaces of the two halves of the mold. Parting surfaces do not form the molded part.

QuickSplit

Split faces into opening directions based on their ability to be extruded in those directions and existing parting surfaces.
