Parting Menu: Parting Surface Tools
Access: Press the Part Surface button in the Mold Design Guide Toolbar or Parting Guide Toolbar, or select Parting > Parting Surface from the menu bar.
This group of functions is used for Parting Surface operations.
The following functions are available in this group:
Note: Most of these functions are only available when a part is active.
Create a face by blending (connecting) between edges, sketches, contours, curves, and points. |
Create a face bounded by a contour. |
By default, this tool will close open gaps in a solid object, or create internal parting faces in the parting surface part by closing gaps on the work part faces. In addition, you can manually pick other internal loops to enable the function to build capping faces. |
Create one or more faces by driving sections over rails and/or spines. |
Extend stitched adjacent simple faces to reach a reference geometry (closed sketch, closed 2D composite or planar face). This function enables you to extend adjacent planar, cylindrical or conic faces (belonging to the same object) or NURBs that can be simplified to these types) for creating Binder Faces. |
Extend faces beyond their edges. This extends one or more faces (or creates new faces) on the edges of open or stitched faces. |
Create an external parting surface. |
Extend a face beyond its boundaries or complete its missing islands. |
Modify the boundaries of a face by projecting them onto a plane and manipulating them with the Sketcher tools. |
![]() |
Generate external tangential surface extensions around the outer edges of a selected stitched skin, maintaining the original topology and surfaces directions. |
Create a face by sweeping a curve, edge, contour or sketch in a specified direction. |
Recreate a face according to defined constraints. |
