Process Manager: Cutters

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

For each of the following options, the Cutters & Holders Dialog is displayed (or the minimized version - the Select Only Mode), enabling you to select a different cutter (if more than one cutter has been defined).

  • Invoke the Process Manager, select the required row(s) and then use one of the following methods:

    • To change a single cutter: Click a cutter to change it.

    • To change single or multiple cutters:

      • Select NC Edit > Change Parameters > Change Cutter from the menu bar. Change the required cutter(s) in the Process Manager.

      • Right-click the selected rows and select Change > Cutter from the popup menu. Change the required cutter(s).

      • Right-click in the Graphics Area and select Change > Cutter from the popup menu. Change the required cutter(s).

Change the cutter for selected procedure(s).

Changing a cutter for cutter motions can be easily done within the Process Manager. For each procedure a cutter name is displayed.

A cutter can be changed for single or multiple procedures.

Changing a single cutter

  1. Select the appropriate procedure in the Process Manager.

  1. InvokeInvoke (for more, click Access at the top of this Help topic) the Change Cutter mode.

The Cutters and Holders dialog is displayed in the Select Only Mode. Change the cutter as required.

Note: If you edit or change the cutter of an executed procedure (a procedure with a status flag in the Process Manager), an appropriate warning message is displayed prompting you to either continue or cancel the operation. If you continue, the procedure(s) using the edited/changed cutter will be considered suspended and receive a status flag. In this case, you must execute the procedure again.

The new cutter is displayed.
Note that the previously executed procedure now has a suspended status flag and needs to be re-executed to receive a flag.

Changing multiple cutters

  1. Select the appropriate procedures in the Process Manager.

  1. InvokeInvoke (for more, click Access at the top of this Help topic) the Change Cutter mode.

The Cutters and Holders dialog is displayed in the Select Only Mode. Change the cutter as required.
