crntval

Current value of a parameter.

The variable crntval refers to the current value of a parameter and enables you to edit the parameter value based on its current value (for example, as a percentage of the current value). This variable can be used when editing a parameter value of multiple cutters, for example:

  • crntval*60/100 - (in the Diameter parameter field of the Cutters & Holders Dialog) reduces the diameter value of all the selected cutters to 60% of their current value.

  • crntval*1.1 - (in the Vc parameter field of the Cutters & Holders Dialog) increases the speed rate of all the selected cutters by 10% of their current value.

lfln

This parameter is relevant only if your Post supports it (contact your local Cimatron Provider for additional details). In the GPP and GPP2 Post Processors, this parameter is supported and is called LIFE_LEN.

lift

Lift (Clean Between Passes / Clean Ridges Method = Trochoidal)

maxdang

Max. Down Angle

maxfixtz

Highest point on the Fixture part.
This is the highest Z of all the points of the Fixture part as defined in the NC Setup. This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

The Fixture part is considered when setting Parts Safe Milling = Active. However, the value is not dependent on whether or not Parts Safe Milling is used.

If the part is empty or not defined, the parameter returns maxsrfz or minsrfz, respectively.

maxhocon

Max. Holder Dia. Considered

maxothrz

Highest point on the Other part.
This is the highest Z of all the points of the Other part as defined in the NC Setup. This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

The Other part is considered when setting Parts Safe Milling = Active. However, the value is not dependent on whether or not Parts Safe Milling is used.

If the part is empty or not defined, the parameter returns maxsrfz or minsrfz, respectively.

maxpz

Highest point in a file.
This is the highest Z value, in the procedure UCS, of a box bounding all surfaces and solids. This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

maxslope

The maximum slope angle of the largest radius of the cutter for best milling operations.

Circle Segment cutters mill best with the largest radii of the cutter tangent to the surface it mills.

For Circle Segment - Barrel cutters, the best slope angle range for milling is displayed for a specific cutter below the cutter image in the Cutters and Holders dialog. This angle range specifies the angle between the cutter axis and the normal of the face it mills and indicates the minimum and maximum slope angles of faces that can best be milled by a specific cutter.

The best slope angle range for milling is displayed for a specific cutter.
The cutter mills tangent to the selected face.

These minimum and maximum slope angles may be used in relations using their respective short names: minslope and maxslope.

These slope angle ranges are currently only displayed for Barrel cutters. For all other cutter types, minslope = 0°, maxslope = 90°.

Note: A UCS can be created such that the tool axis is tangent, at the appropriate angle, to the face it mills.

See the Cutters and Holders dialog and graphical representations of Circle Segment cutters.

maxsrfz

Highest point of all selected surfaces in a procedure.
This is the highest Z value, in the procedure UCS, of a box bounding of all selected surfaces of the procedure (any kind of selected surfaces such as part surfaces). This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

maxtrgtz

Highest point of the Target part.
This is the highest Z of all the points of the Target part as defined in the NC Setup. This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

The Target part is considered when setting Parts Safe Milling = Active. However, the value is not dependent on whether or not Parts Safe Milling is used.

If the part is empty or not defined, the parameter returns maxsrfz or minsrfz, respectively.

minfixtz

Lowest point on the Fixture part.
This is the lowest Z of all the points of the Fixture part as defined in the NC Setup. This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

The Fixture part is considered when setting Parts Safe Milling = Active. However, the value is not dependent on whether or not Parts Safe Milling is used.

If the part is empty or not defined, the parameter returns maxsrfz or minsrfz, respectively.

minhorstep

Min. Horiz. Step

minothrz

Lowest point on the Other part.
This is the lowest Z of all the points of the Other part as defined in the NC Setup. This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

The Other part is considered when setting Parts Safe Milling = Active. However, the value is not dependent on whether or not Parts Safe Milling is used.

If the part is empty or not defined, the parameter returns maxsrfz or minsrfz, respectively.

minpz

Lowest point in a file.
This is the lowest Z value, in the procedure UCS, of a box bounding all surfaces and solids. This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

minslope

The minimum slope angle of the largest radius of the cutter for best milling operations.

Note: A UCS can be created such that the tool axis is tangent, at the appropriate angle, to the face it mills.

See the Cutters and Holders dialog and graphical representations of Circle Segment cutters.

minsrfz

Lowest point of all selected surfaces in a procedure.
This is the lowest Z value, in the procedure UCS, of a box bounding of all selected surfaces of the procedure (any kind of selected surfaces - part surfaces, check surfaces, etc.). This value is updated whenever the geometry is changed.

mintrgtz

Lowest point of the Target part.
This is the lowest Z of all the points of the Target part as defined in the NC Setup.
