Drafting Preferences – General
Access: Invoke this function from one of the following locations:

Select the Preferences button
from the Quick Access Toolbar, or
-
Select Tools > Main Tools > Preferences from the menu bar.
Navigate to Drafting > General.
Set the default General Drafting preferences.
The following General Drafting preferences can be defined:
Define the BOM (Bill of Materials) content and display parameters. |

Define the default character sizes of the general tool and drafting annotations. |
|
Define the default color of each dimension type and symbol. |
|
Set the precision defaults for the dimension tool and tolerance. Define the various definitions for the dimension features. |
|
Define the default style for any drafting symbol under the Textual, Symbols, and GD&T Symbol Menus (such as Dimension, Geometrical Tolerance, Surface Roughness, Marking, etc.) and set the default location for saving the styles. |

Define the defaults for various drafting symbols, such the vertical and horizontal distances between the text and the symbol, line extensions, and radius factors. |

Define the font styles annotation. |
|
Define the ID Number balloon content and display parameters. |
|
When creating Drafting views and defining which model symbols to hide or show, define the maximum angle (with respect to a selected view plane) up to which all PMIs (Product and Manufacturing Information data) will be displayed. |

Define the default parameter values which are used to identify holes and to create groups of similar holes for the Table of Holes (TOH). |
|
Define the default values of the terminator characteristics. |
|
Define the default characteristics for Units. |
|
