View Menu
Access: Select View from the menu bar to display the View dropdown menu.
The following functions appear under the View menu.
The table below can be sorted; it has clickable headers that sort the table by the clicked column. The table is initially sorted by Function name.

Define whether ISO view will show ISO view from the top (Core) or Bottom (Cavity). |

|
Turn the cursor into a cross hair cursor. |
||

Customize Cimatron toolbars and menus, as required, so that functions that you use more often are more readily accessible. |

|
Toggle a white graphics window background color on or off, for taking screen shots, prints, and other CAD pictures. The graphics region will suppress whatever background is set by the system general preference and display a white background color, with no gradient. |

|
Display the section and cross-section curves of faces. |
||
|
Turn On or Off the ambient effect (shadow) shown at the edges of occluded faces. |
||
|
Control the visibility of datum entities. |
||
|
Control the visibility of edges and faces. |
||
|
Turn the smoothing (ant-aliasing) of edges ON or OFF. |
||
|
Display or hide mesh facets in entities. |
||
|
Control the visibility of open edges. |
||
|
Set different parameters affecting display quality and ZPR (Zoom, Pan, and Rotate) speed. |
||
|
Control the visibility of PMI symbols. |
||
|
Control the visibility of threads. |
||
|
Dynamic Section creates a temporary section along a plane, which can be adjusted by moving a control in the Dynamic Section dialog. |

|
This display option enables the Triad function. |
||
|
Switch between hide/show of components and hide/show of entities within components. |
||
|
Expand the Procedure Tree in the NC Process Manager. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
Rotate the view by 180 degrees along the Y axis of the display. |
||
|
Display the front view and apply Zoom All (zoom the entire window). |
||
|
The Global Filter is used to display Procedure motions. The display of these motions can be controlled by motion type, hide/show and color control. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |

|
Turn Grid & Snap ON or OFF (for use in the Sketcher). Grid & Snap enables more precision in sketching and positioning elements in the graphics area. |
||
|
Set the parameters for the Grid & Snap function. |
||
|
Hide selected entities, or select entities and hide them. |
||
|
Hide all tool motions. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
Hide curves or segments of curves that are behind faces (surfaces). |
||
|
Hide all datums (UCS, planes and axes) of a component. |
||
|
Use the Hidden Lines shading mode - all objects will be presented as opaque white faces. |
||
|
Hide everything except for the selected/highlighted geometry. |
||
|
When set, the motions of one procedure only will be shown. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |

|
Hide all visible entities and Show all hidden entities. |
||
|
Hide or show the tool. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |

|

|
Show or hide the Hole Safety Distance Pane. The Hole Safety Distance Pane displays the results of the Hole Safety Distance analysis. |

|
Display the isometric view and apply Zoom All (zoom the entire window). |
||
|
Display the left view and apply Zoom All (zoom the entire window). |
||
|
Select a predefined light setting. |
||
|
Control the lighting, material, and texture of faces. |
||
|
Change the Line Style of the selected curves. |
||
|
Change the Line Width of the selected curves. |
||
|
Open the Local Render Mode Dialog and set the transparency for selected objects and faces. |
||
|
Show or hide the lower tree. |
||
|
Use the Mixed shading mode - all objects will be presented with their defined opacity and color. |
||
|
The NC Assistant displays a graphical representation of various parameter options, thereby assisting you in defining the correct parameter settings. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |

|
The NC Execution Monitor displays information relevant to the toolpaths/procedures currently being executed and can also be used to terminate the execution of these procedures. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
The NC Information Bar is a table that shows the status of the cutter as it moves, and is useful when checking and editing cutter motions. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
The NC Process Manager consists of a collapsible tree containing detailed information of all toolpaths and their procedures. In addition, the Process Manager displays the status of each toolpath and procedure by using status flags and symbols. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
Go to the next Hide/Show state. |
||
|
Rotate to the next view orientation. |
||
|
Show or hide the Output Pane. The Output Pane displays system messages. |
||
|
When setting color to an object, override the color of all its faces (faces lose their individual color and receive color from the object to which they belong). |
||
|
Pan the model. |
||
|
Use the Partial Hidden Lines shading mode - all objects will be presented as opaque white faces. Hidden lines will also be presented. |
||
|
Pick an entity to select its color and add it to the Color palette. |
||
|
Return to the previous Hide/Show state. |
||
|
Rotate to the previous view orientation. |
||
|
Reset Layout |
Reset to the default pane layout of the Cimatron window. |
|
|
Refresh the toolpath display. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
Display the right view and apply Zoom All (zoom the entire window). |
||
|
Rotate the model. |
||
|
Rotate the view by a defined angle. |
||
|
Rotate the model 90° to the left. |
||
|
Rotate the model 90° to the right. |
||
|
Rotate the selected plane so that it is parallel to the display. |
||
|
Use the Shaded shading mode - all objects will be presented as opaque faces. |
||
|
Select hidden entities and show them. |
||
|
Show all datums (UCS, planes and axes) of a component. |
||
|
Show or don't show the tool when selecting procedures. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
The NC Execution Log is a text file attached to your job that displays information relevant to the procedure/toolpath that has recently been executed (such as calculation time, estimated machining time, XY motion limits, and the highest Z value found in feed motions). The log file is displayed in a Notepad window. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
Show the tool motions. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
Rotate the model to the closest main view without changing the zoom level. This will display the model in either the Back, Bottom, Front, Left, Right or Top view, whichever is closest to the orientation of the model before snapping to the view. |
||
|
Open the Symbol List. This is a shortcut of symbols that can be accessed quickly using shortcut keys. This list can be customized. |
||
|
Toggle the display of tool motions. This function is displayed if an NC file is active. |
||
|
Display the top view and apply Zoom All (zoom the entire window). |
||
|
Show or hide the Tree Pane. The Cimatron Tree Pane displays information on the currently open file. This information is contained in tabs that are displayed, depending on the currently active file type (Part, Assembly, Drafting, or NC Manufacturing). Examples of the types of trees that are displayed in this pane are the Feature Tree, Assembly Tree, Parting Tree, Electrode Tree, and Drawing Tree. |

Show or hide the Search bar on the tree pane. Using the tree search will expand the tree and any parts that meet these conditions will be highlighted in a different color. To quickly locate parts that may require attention, the tree symbols for parts are displayed at every level of the subassembly. |
||
|
Show or hide the upper tree. |
||
|
Show or hide the Hole Validation Pane. The Hole Validation Pane displays the results of the Validate Holes analysis. |
||
|
Use Wireframe shading mode - all objects will be presented as wireframe. |
||
|

Zoom in and out. |
||
|
Zoom in or out so that all entities are visible and occupy the entire display area. |

Zoom in or out to automatically center the display around the selected geometry. |

ZPR Line Width |
Toggle option to retain Wireframe pen width during Zoom, Pan, and Rotate (ZPR) operations. |
