File Menu
Access: Select File from the menu bar to display the File dropdown menu.
The following functions appear under the File menu.
The table below can be sorted; it has clickable headers that sort the table by the clicked column. The table is initially sorted by Function name.

Add pictures to the file (to be displayed as a preview image) in the Cimatron Explorer. Pictures may also be captured by taking a snapshot of the current state of a file. |

Export a part (from a Cimatron Part file) or multiple parts or sub-assembly (from a Cimatron Assembly file) to a single Cimatron NC (Subtractive Manufacturing) file for post-printing operations, such as milling, drilling, etc. When files have been exported to NC, the NC environment is loaded and the Import from Part/Assembly function is invoked. |

Open the catalog, select a catalog part, and create a new copy of it. |

Import a file from an external file format to a new Cimatron file. |

Import geometry from a part or an assembly. |

Publish to PDF to create 3D PDF files that include parts and assemblies from Cimatron. When the Publish to PDF button is selected, a dialog is displayed giving you additional controls before the selected entities are exported to PDF. |

A Linked Drawing is one that holds a link to the model(s) that was used for the view creation. The models are not kept inside the drawing file; instead, the system keeps a link to the source file of the models. This reduces the file size of drawings. This mode applies to the entire drawing, and not to specific views or sheets. The |

A Self-Contained Drawing is one that includes the models that were used for the view creation. The model(s) are kept inside the drawing file; these types file contain the entire data of the part or assembly they show. While this allows you to work with the drawing file even if it is separated from the original data, it can result in a large drawing file size. The |

Switch to CAD mode. This icon is displayed when an NC file is open. |
||
|
Switch to CAM (NC) mode. This icon is displayed when an NC file is open. |

|
Setup a new Transfer Die assembly. |
