Cimatron Diagnostics Menu (Analysis Tools)
Access: Select Analyze from the menu bar and then select the required function.
The following functions appear under the Analysis menu.
The table below can be sorted; it has clickable headers that sort the table by the clicked column. The table is initially sorted by Function name.
Menu Section | Function | ||
Assign colors and sets to faces based on their direction, position and function. For example, for electrodes, single-color sets will be created for the burning area, extension and base. |
Analyze various geometry quality issues of a selected B-rep object. |
Analyze the integrity of geometry, view the results, and enable problematic entities to be fixed. |
Map the different curvature radii of faces and then color the faces giving each range of radii a different color. |
Delete selected analysis marks created by the last used analysis operation. The markings are areas indicated as problematic during the analysis. |
Calculates the deviation (distances) between two versions of a part, it can also be used to highlight the interference between parts. This function then shows the distances as a color-coded map.
Analyze selected faces and visualize their draft angle with reference to a defined direction. |
Show different information about the selected entity. |
Hide or show the analysis marks created by the last used analysis operation. The markings are areas indicated as problematic during the analysis. |
Hide or show the results of the last interference check. The Interference Check Tools are displayed if an assembly is active. |
Hide components that do not interfere with other components. The Interference Check Tools are displayed if an assembly is active. |
Display tooltip information about the selected entities. |
Analyze the geometry and look for thin and long features. |
Measure distance, angles, curvature and general data of objects and entities. |
Create and edit a motion simulation. Motion Simulation is an analytical tool that simulates motion in assemblies and also includes comprehensive collision detection. It allows you to verify that mechanisms work properly, avoid unplanned collisions, and in general, improve the design process. |
Load a motion simulation. |
Save a motion simulation. |
Start a new interference check analysis, which looks for interference between components. The Interference Check Tools are displayed if an assembly is active. |
Start a new Moldex3D simulation. |
Review and define the outside direction of open objects. |
Open a Moldex3D simulation file. |
Rerun the last defined interference check. The Interference Check Tools are displayed if an assembly is active. |
Create a Set consisting only of horizontal faces. Sets are used to create groups of specific geometric entities. In this case, horizontal faces are considered as those that are parallel to the XY plane of the active UCS. This function is displayed when an NC file is active. |
Show an entity by entering its ID number. This function is displayed when an NC file is active. |
Analyze the slot sizes of a body. This checks for pockets and ribs that have a height to thickness ratio larger than a defined threshold value (to find slots that are long relative to their thickness). |
Display statistical data for the file. |
Analyze the wall thickness of objects. |
Turn Zebra Shading On/Off. This function is useful for visual smoothness assessment. |
Set Zebra Shading parameters. |
The following menu sections are available under the Analysis menu:
This group of functions is used to evaluate open edge faults (mismatches and gaps), making it easier to locate faults and repair solids. Repairing solids partially or completely is not required, but often leads to massive time savings in later stages of the mold design. |
This group of functions is used to simulate and analyze both the injection molding and also the cooling process of the mold from within Cimatron. This tool is a third party application from Moldex3D. |
This group of functions is used to detect an interference/intersection among components in the assembly and display the geometries involved in that interference. |
This group of functions is used to perform various analysis operations. |
This group of function is used to simulate motion in assemblies and also includes comprehensive collision detection. They allow you to verify that mechanisms work properly, avoid unplanned collisions, and in general, improve the design process. |
This group of functions is used for analysis operations in NC. |
This is a general group of tools used for analysis operations. |
Note: All operations are also accessible either through the menu bar and / or toolbar icons.
