Cimatron Assembly Functions
The following functions appear under the Assembly menu.
The table below can be sorted; it has clickable headers that sort the table by the clicked column. The table is initially sorted by Function name.
Menu Section | Function | ||
Activate the selected component. |
Activate the main assembly. |
Activate the assembly containing the currently active component. Invoke this function after you have finished editing a part. This closes the Part environment, returns you to the Assembly environment and activates the parent assembly of the currently active component. |
Add a component to the assembly / sub-assembly. |
Add a component that is a duplicate copy of an existing component, to the assembly / sub-assembly. |
Add a component from an external (third party) Catalog to the assembly / sub-assembly. |
Create a new folder in the Assembly Tree. This folder can be used to group items together for sorting and control purposes. Any component (from the same assembly level as the created folder) can be placed in the folder. |
Add a component from the Catalog to the assembly / sub-assembly. |
Add a part/component to the assembly/sub-assembly. |
Add a new sub-assembly to the assembly. |
Copy components from one UCS to multiple UCSs. |
Create an assembly cut by selecting the cutting component and the component(s) to be cut. |
Copy components in a linear array. |
Copy components by mirroring them about a plane. |
Copy components in a radial array. |
Cut component(s) automatically by component(s) with Cutting Objects according to their cutting rules. |
Create a Bill of Materials (BoM) for an assembly. A BoM is a list of components in the assembly. |
Create connections between components by defining constraints. |
Search for cyclic dependencies with the option of breaking them. |
Delete an Add operation. |
Delete selected components. |
Set the Distribution Layout to be used when the current assembly is added to another assembly. |
Display the ECO Tree which manages all ECOs. It displays information from all the ECO sub-assemblies that are under the main assembly, in a single tree. The ECO Tree provides access to all the Cimatron ECO Tools. These tools provide advanced and reliable analysis, implementation and documentation of an unlimited number of ECO changes at any stage of a job. |
Edit the definition of an Add operation. |
Edit the dimensions of parts in an assembly without regenerating other parts. |
Extract geometry to a separate file by defining a contour containing the required geometry. |
Regenerate all components that are in "Insert Mode". |
Convert Instances (parts that exist more than once in the assembly) into independent parts or into another group of instances. |
Move or rotate a component (if it has degrees of freedom). |
Open the selected component into a separate window. |
Add a project number to the main assembly and its children. |
Relocate components (parts and sub-assemblies) in the assembly tree. |
Move components around with or without updating their Add operation parameters. |
Remove pockets and holes without regenerating the assembly. |
Replace a component with another component. |
Suppress selected components. |
Unsuppress all suppressed components. |
