Cimatron Drafting Functions
The Cimatron Drafting functions appear under the following menus:
The following Drafting functions appear under these menus:
The table below can be sorted; it has clickable headers that sort the table by the clicked column. The table is initially sorted by Function name.
Menu | Menu Section | Function | ||
Align a symbol with another symbol horizontally (in the X axis). |
Align a symbol with another symbol vertically (in the Y axis). |
Align a view with another view horizontally (in the X axis). |
Align a view with another view vertically (in the Y axis). |
Create an array of drawings on a single sheet with each drawing in its own frame. |
Create an arrow from a start point to a terminator location. |
Automatically create a center line through circles, arcs, ellipses or projected splines of an assembly view. |
Automatically display a coordinate table listing all the coordinate labels in a selected view. These coordinate labels must first be created using the PMI Coordinate Label function in the Modeling environment. |
Automatically display the ID numbers of an assembly view. |
Automatically label holes, creating labels on the view beside each hole. |
Automatically create ordinate dimensions through circles, arcs, points, splines, and center lines. |
Create a Bill of Materials (BoM) for an assembly. A BoM is a list of components in the assembly. |
Create a broken (shortened) view of a long part in Drafting. Broken views can be created with adjustable break lines in a variety of styles. Any dimension made in a broken view is still correct to the part model, as it will automatically compensate for the part length that has been broken away. |
Create a center line through circles, arcs or ellipses. |
Change the visibility status of view edges. Edges or curves can be defined as Hidden or Visible in which case their specific attributes are according to how they are defined in the View Attributes dialog. |
Clip (remove) the portion of a view that is outside the selected contour. A contour must first be defined and then selected as input for the Clip View function, defining the boundaries of the clipping. |
Create a contour to be used for defining special views such as Detailed, Local Section or Clipped View. |
Create a group of drafting entities. |
Create a new sheet. When a drafting file is created, a drawing and one sheet are automatically created. An unlimited number of sheets can be included in a drawing to arrange numerous views as required. |
Create a sheet from a Sheet Template. This involves applying a Sheet Template to a model to quickly create a drawing sheet from the model. |
Add a Datum Target symbol to the drawing. |
Delete a Master Group of entities. |
Create a dimension. |
Define entity font types. |
A customized frameframe can be created for each sheet in the drawing. This frame contains a title block with engineering informationengineering information . |
Create a datum reference to attach to a point on the screen or to one of the following:
Add a geometric tolerance to the drawing. Geometric tolerances are used to control form, profile, orientation, location and runout. |
Add a hatched surface to the drawing. |
Add an ID number symbol to the drawing. |
Create a local section view of any part view. Draw a contour to define the area of the local section view. |
Apply markings to various circles, arcs or splines to differentiate between them, enabling you to identify them easily. These markings can be applied to ejector pins, cooling channels or other circular geometry. |
Add the multi diameter symbol to the drawing. When you use the Multi Diameter function and click a drafting hole in any direction (normal to view orientation, front, side, etc.) the system analyzes the hole segments and sets major diameters in the Multi Diameter symbol. |
Create multiple views in a single operation.
Move or order a group of entities according to selected parameters. |
Allows the definition of the ordinate dimension direction via view entities (two points or a line), which can be aligned with view rotation or angled details. You can control and edit the dimension distance from the view or selected points. |
Load a master group and apply an instance of the group to the view. |
Remove view alignment constraints. |
Restore deleted or trimmed view edges. |
Add a section line to the drawing. |
Define a Drafting Standard; for example, ISO. When creating the drawing, a default is defined for the drawing in Preferences. The Drafting Standard for each sheet can be selected separately. If the sheet does not have an active standard, it will take the active standard of the drawing. |
Add a surface finish symbol to the drawing. |
Add a surface roughness symbol to the drawing. |
Add a symmetry line to a drawing. In addition, you can define the amount by which the symmetry line extends both sides beyond the defined area. |
Create a Table of Holes (TOH). |
Create a wireframe (curves) out of text. Create and position wireframe text (arcs & lines only) from text defined in any language, font, or according to specific parameters. The result is a Text feature.
Set the visibility conditions of various entities (line pen, style, and color) in views by defining their view attributes. |
Create a view of a part. |
Add a Weld symbol to the drawing. |
